Community nurses in mid Ross have been praised by their Trust for going above and beyond to deliver services during challenging winter conditions.

Heavy snowfall left some patients’ homes inaccessible by car but did this did not stop community nurses from NHS Highland from providing much needed care.

To ensure patients received the support they need community nurses left their cars behind, in some cases walking miles in difficult conditions.

On Friday, a spokesperson for NHS Highland, on the Trust’s Facebook page, said: “A ‘big shout out’ and ‘Thank You’ to all dedicated community nursing and care at home teams who continue to go above and beyond to continue delivering high-quality care and services during challenging winter conditions.

“In Mid Ross our nurses and support workers have walked miles on foot when patient's houses can't safely be reached by car. The teamwork has been outstanding!”
