QNI outlines five health and social care priorities
The Queen’s Nursing Institute (QNI) has published a list of five priorities that it believes need to be addressed within the health and care system.
As an independent charity dedicated to improving nursing care at home and in the community, the QNI has highlighted the importance of the registered nursing role for the benefit of the individuals, families and communities served.
The five priority areas are:
· Proactive management of long-term conditions to prevent unnecessary admission to hospital
· Manage frailty and preventable deterioration amongst care home residents
· A public health strategy to address health inequalities and the big issues faced by society
· Improve end-of-life care for all ages
· Access to services for people with mental health problems of all ages.
