NMC congratulates those recognised in New Year Honours

The NMC congratulates nursing and midwifery professionals who have been honoured for their outstanding contributions in the New Year Honours.

Helen Herniman, Acting Chief Executive and Registrar, said: “It’s always inspiring to see the work of nursing and midwifery professionals across the UK being recognised in the New Year Honours.

“As we reflect on the challenges of the past year, these awards serve as a reminder of the dedication, skill, and compassion that define our professions.

“Congratulations to everyone who has been honoured, including Professor Alex McMahon, Chair of the independent steering group for our review of nursing and midwifery practice learning, who has been awarded a CBE.”

She added: “We’d also like to extend our congratulations to Ann Gow, an important stakeholder for the NMC, who has been honoured with an OBE for her services to nursing in Scotland.

“The recognition of individuals across a wide range of roles - from those working tirelessly on the frontlines to those leading innovative change - is a testament to the diversity and excellence within nursing and midwifery.”

Sir David Warren, Chair of the Council, noted: “On behalf of the Council, I extend my congratulations to all those recognised in the New Year Honours.

“This reflects the enormous value of their contributions within our communities as their work continues to shape the future of health and social care.”
