Medtronic announced as Insulin Safety Week sponsor

Global healthcare company Medtronic announced as Insulin Safety Week 2024 sponsor.

Striving to develop groundbreaking healthcare technology solutions for the most complex and challenging solutions, Medtronic is supporting Insulin Safety Week 2024 to help raise awareness of insulin safety within the healthcare community.

With over 500 healthcare sites signed up, Insulin Safety Week returns this year with a focus on the safe use of diabetes technology – ensuring diabetes experts and non-specialists are fully prepared for the phased roll out of Hybrid Closed Loop (HCL) systems.

David Turner, Senior Training and Education Manager UK, Medtronic said: “ Medtronic is delighted to be supporting Insulin Safety Week this year.  This initiative is so important right now, due to the planned increase in people living with diabetes accessing HCL technology following the recent NICE technology appraisal.

“Medtronic understands how important it is to provide opportunities for healthcare professionals to receive ongoing education and improve their knowledge and understanding of all insulin therapies.”

Event manager Emily Mayhew added: “Insulin Safety Week is an important opportunity for healthcare staff to come together and strengthen their knowledge and understanding of insulin therapy.

“Free to take part and open to all healthcare professionals working in diabetes care, the campaign held July 1 to 7, will provide comprehensive resources to help increase understanding of the new technology.”
