Free Nursing Live event set to be just the ticket for Community and District Nurses

RCNI’s new national nursing event, Nursing Live, is now only weeks away, and nursing staff from all sectors, including Community and District Nurses, can still get their hands on free tickets.

The first event of its kind for the sector, Nursing Live  – which will be hosted in Liverpool on November 10 and 11 - will focus on both the professional and personal development of nurses at every stage of their career.

Packed with over 100 CPD sessions, expert talks, master classes, demonstrations, and much more, it will provide practical and evidence-based insights into the clinical, professional and personal challenges faced by all nurses. Furthermore, it will give nurses the chance to meet, network, and share best practice with their colleagues and peers.

Alongside the RCN’s leader Pat Cullen, and England’s Chief Nursing Officer Dame Ruth May, there will also be expert speakers drawn from across the whole of the nursing profession. In addition, award-winning author, broadcaster and performer, Michael Rosen, will be giving the keynote address.

As part of Nursing Live, there will be several talks focused on Primary Care, and other topics which impact on Community and District Nurses. You can see all the sessions in the event programme here

One of these will be a presentation by Louise Brady, Primary Care Nursing Lead for NHS England, who will be explaining how the NAPC’s CARE programme helps to enable nurses to lead and deliver high quality care and outcomes in partnership with their local population.

Other sessions will look at issues such as nursing older people, children’s nursing, mental health nursing, and palliative care.

In addition, Queens Nurse Alison Bunce, RCN Nurse of the Year 2022 and founder of Compassionate Inverclyde, will be running an advice workshop on how nursing staff can manage stress in the workplace by using a series of ‘on the spot’ self-help techniques.

Another Queens Nurse, Gilly Lee, from the Brooklands and Northenden INT in Manchester, said of Nursing Live: “Nursing Live is set to be part and parcel of a landscape of nursing, and it's of particular importance and interest to me.

“I'm excited that I’ll be able to connect with other nurses, and be part of an exciting event in a city like Liverpool. I think it'll be good fun.”
