Children’s community nurses in Hampshire shortlisted for CARE Award

The children’s community nursing team in Hampshire has been shortlisted for a CARE award in the region.

The Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (HHFT) has shortlisted the children’s community nursing team for the CARE Award – Family & Clinical Support.

The children’s community nurses have been recognised alongside 550 other HHFT staff members at special tea party events hosted to celebrate those nominated as part of this year’s HHFT People Awards.

Colleagues and teams from across Hampshire Hospitals came together to enjoy a scrumptious afternoon tea, hear more about the achievements of nominees and take part in games and quizzes, with tea parties organised for everyone who received an awards nomination.

The HHFT People Awards are an opportunity to recognise the truly remarkable and inspiring things that Hampshire Hospitals staff do every day to care for patients and keep its hospitals running, celebrating those who consistently live the Trust’s values to make the extra-ordinary a normal part of the care and services it provides.

Over 550 incredible nominations were received from members of the public, patients, and Hampshire Hospitals colleagues who were all encouraged to share what had made a member of staff or team stand out from the crowd.

Hampshire Hospitals will also be celebrating all of this year’s HHFT People Awards finalists – with 48 colleagues and teams shortlisted across nine award categories – at a special awards ceremony to be hosted on Thursday, June 13, at Winchester Cathedral.

Alex Whitfield, chief executive for Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, said: “It was brilliant to be able to take a moment to recognise so many of our amazing colleagues and teams as part of our People Awards tea party celebrations.

“Huge congratulations again to everyone who has been recognised, including our fantastic award finalists – we’re looking forward to coming together to celebrate their achievements at our special HHFT People Awards ceremony in June.”
