Bridgewater NHS named shortlisted finalist for national award
Bridgewater Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BCHFT) is celebrating after being shortlisted as a national finalist at the 2023 HSJ Awards.
Following a thorough first round of judging, in which a record breaking 1,456 entries were received, BCHFT has been shortlisted in the category of Primary and Community Care Provider of the Year.
Now in its 43-year history, the HSJ Awards is the most coveted accolade in UK healthcare and is seen as the largest annual benchmarking and recognition programme for the health sector.
Speaking about the shortlisting, Colin Scales, Chief Executive of the Trust, said: “This is brilliant news for Bridgewater Community Healthcare and the partners we work alongside.
“The fact we’ve been named a shortlisted finalist in the category of Primary and Community Care Provider of the Year is a great reflection on how far we have come as an organisation since the pandemic.
“NHS community services often go unrecognised, so this is an opportunity for us to feel proud that our joined-up work is being noticed at a national level.”
The award entry submitted to the judges was an opportunity to showcase the work of the organisation.
Colin added: “Being named a shortlisted finalist will be a huge boost for our dedicated teams, especially at a time when the challenges that face the NHS are often the top story in the news.
“In this special 75th anniversary year of the National Health Service, we have our fingers-crossed ahead of the official awards ceremony to be held in the autumn.
“Whatever the result on the night, I am immensely proud of our achievements. The HSJ Awards are always a great opportunity to share our successes throughout the entire healthcare sector.”
HSJ editor Allistair McLellan said: “It always gives me great pleasure to congratulate our finalists at this stage of the judging process and this year is no exception as we acknowledge Bridgewater Community Healthcare for being shortlisted in the category of Primary and Community Care Provider of the Year.”
The selected winners will be announced during a ceremony in London on 16th November.
